Harry Patrick Christian
HARRY PATRICK CHRISTIAN began his theatrical career as a teenager playing Huckleberry Finn at Atlanta's Peachtree Playhouse. Since then, he has spent a life in the theater as an actor, director, cabaret performer, stage manager and teaching artist. Harry has appeared in several original Off-Broadway productions and, for many years, he has had the good fortune to work with some of New Jersey's best professional theaters, playing a host of wildly varied roles, from a 9 year old with ADHD to a one-legged Victorian grounds-keeper. Harry is a member of the acclaimed Pushcart Players, where he is currently an Arts-in-Education instructor and, as an actor, has performed in nearly 3000 mainstage shows, including their tour of The Last, the Very Last Butterfly in Czech Republic and the Terezin Concentration Camp. Harry is also on the staff of NJPAC as a teaching artist. As a proud member of Vivid Stage since 1995, Harry has appeared in many, many shows including Baby; Fuddy Meers; The Mystery of Irma Vep (named Top 10 of 2002 by The Star Ledger), The Laramie Project, Expecting Isabel (named Top 10 of 2006), Pride's Crossing, The Pursuit of Happiness, This (Best Play 2010), Distracted, The Language Archive, The Neighborhood, Shipwrecked, Water in My Hands, Psychodrama, and Kodachrome. At Vivid Stage, he also directed Motherhood: Out Loud and Be Here Now which ended its run 5 days before the pandemic shutdown. Harry also directed Driving Miss Daisy at The Summit Playhouse. Since 2007, he’s directed musicals at the Del E. Webb Performing Arts Center in Arizona, and for over 15 years, Harry has worked with the Passaic Police Department Youth Services Division conducting workshops for first-time violent crime offenders. In 2010, Harry received the NJ Theater Alliance Applause Award for acting with the Vivid Ensemble, and in 2018, he was honored again by the NJTA and The Pushcart Players for his dedication to arts education.
